The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Patient Access Representative II position plays a key role in facilitating access to care by registering patients, verifying insurance, and collecting demographic information on-site at various community-based locations throughout Essex County, NJ. The registrar serves as the first point of contact for families, helping ensure a positive and efficient care experience

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid NJ driver's license to travel between clinic sites

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in patient registration, medical front desk, or healthcare administrative support
  • Strong knowledge of patient registration workflows and familiarity with EHR systems, Epic preferred
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a mobile clinical setting

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift
  • Thursdays 1:00pm-7:00pm, remaining hours will vary based on clinic events and locations)
  • Part-Time, 15 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Perform in-person patient registration at mobile clinic locations, including verifying demographic information and insurance coverage
  • Enter accurate patient data into the Electronic Health Record system (Epic)
  • Collect and process required documentation such as identification, consent forms, and insurance cards
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations when handling Protected Health Information
  • Collaborate with clinical and outreach staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality service
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to families from diverse backgrounds
  • Travel independently to assigned mobile clinic locations across Essex County
  • Assist with scanning, filing, and securing documents for later processing or shredding per RWJBarnabas Health policy
  • Support team in special projects or outreach events as needed
