At CESO, a Survey Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the planning, coordination, and delivery of survey documents across a diverse portfolio of projects. This position is responsible for ensuring technical excellence, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with company best practices, while also driving process improvements and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development. In addition to managing team schedules and production workflows, the Survey Manager plays a key role in balancing workload across offices, mentoring staff, and supporting cross-functional initiatives
Primary Responsibilities
    • Assist team members by providing technical direction.
    • Supervise survey teams and serve as a senior technical resource for resolving complex project issues.
    • Mentor and coach (Sr) Team Leads and surveyors to support skill development, performance consistency, and career growth.
    • Oversee team budgets, labor utilization, and resource planning at the Business Unit level, as led by (Sr) Team Leads at a program and project level, to support efficient project execution and alignment with Business Unit goals.
    • Ensure survey teams meet client program requirements within established budget and schedule constraints.
    • Apply advanced knowledge of surveying principles and practices to guide project execution and support team decision-making.
    • Facilitate regular team meetings to share updates, reinforce standards, best practices, and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
    • Assist Project Managers and Team Leads in the preparation of proposals, and budgets.
    • Ensure company QA/QC procedures and standards are adhered to by project teams, and assist with project Quality Assurance reviews, as needed, to support complex projects and/or project schedules.
    • Supervising direct reports is a key responsibility of this job.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related field; In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a Professional Surveyor license is required.
    • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience is required.
    • Experience with managing a survey team is highly preferred.
    • Professional Surveyor (PS) licensure is required;
    • Obtain multi-state licensure as required by CESO to become a signatory for the company.
    • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, BlueBeam Revu and other applicable software.
