Psychologist Opportunity! Montefiore Medical Center / Montefiore Medical Group; School Health Program

Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP), the largest network of comprehensive School-Based health centers in the nation, offers wide ranging integrated health care services to more than 42,000 students attending New York City Department of Education public schools in the Bronx borough and expanding into lower Westchester County.

MSHP is seeking licensed* psychologists (PhD/PsyD) for a clinically enriching position to provide integrated mental health services for children and/or adolescents at ambulatory school health sites. The psychologist will be the primary mental health clinician in the health center working as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Position Overview:

Full-time (Monday - Friday; 8A-4P). 10-month position with summers off

Salary range 112K - 115K with opportunity for incentive bonuses

Provide patient care with a desire to work in a mission-driven environment to make a strong positive community impact.

Clinical responsibilities include:

o Providing individual psychotherapy

o Crisis support, when needed

o Parent/collateral work

o Teacher and school staff collaboration and consultation

o Opportunities for group therapy, classroom workshops & presentations

o Maintain documentation in electronic medical record in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements

Minimum Candidate Requirements:

o Licensed* or license-eligible (i.e., already holding a license in another state) in New York State.

o Training in evidence-based psychotherapies

o Experience working with children and / or adolescents

o Ability to provide culturally competent care to diverse student population

o Adept at working in an environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork

The Ideal Candidate:

o Completed an APA accredited training program

o Previous experience in a school setting

o Experience delivering school/parent presentations on mental health issues

o Bilingual; English / Spanish
