Years of Experience: 6 years Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Location: Huntsville, AL or Washington DC Program Description This program delivers Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) as a Service (TSaaS) capabilities to support a wide range of mission-critical requests across the agency. These services encompass technical, investigative, analytical, and data-driven support, including advanced software development, systems engineering, data visualization, and workflow automation. The role requires deep familiarity with large data sets, investigative methodologies, and secure software development practices. Candidates must demonstrate the flexibility to respond to evolving mission needs, including ad hoc technical challenges, and contribute to the rapid development and deployment of innovative tools and solutions. Position Description Serve as a Technologist responsible for assisting with designing, developing, and deploying scalable software and data solutions in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering across the full lifecycle, from rapid prototyping and iterative development to integration and sustainment. Responsibilities include enhancing existing systems, integrating structured and unstructured data, and contributing to architectural decisions that support continuous delivery and operational resilience. The role also involves working with novel and unconventional data sources, applying reverse engineering techniques to deconstruct and analyze third-party software components, and introducing new capabilities through code modification and refactoring. Strong collaboration, adaptability, and a commitment to iterative improvement are essential. Responsibilities: * Apply technical expertise to execute high-impact assignments across multiple domains. * Engage directly with counterterrorism investigators, analysts, and non-technical stakeholders to identify functional needs, propose solutions, and develop mission-aligned tools. * Identify and implement enhancements to existing systems, improving performance, security, and workflow automation. * Perform software development tasks including programming (e.g., Python), code refactoring, systems operations, and architectural design. * Evaluate and integrate COTS, GOTS, OSS, and other technologies to deliver complex, algorithmically driven solutions. * Contribute to the technical roadmap and execution of one or more projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. * Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices across the vendor team. * Oversee task integration, monitor project progress, and deliver performance metrics and analysis upon request. Required Skills * Active Top Secret with eligibility for SCI and FS Poly * Relevant professional experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field. * Proven ability to scope, plan, and execute full lifecycle engineering projects, from requirements gathering through deployment and sustainment. * Knowledge in at least one of the following domains: o User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) o Front-End Engineering o API Development o Reverse Engineering o Data Engineering Preferred Skills * Managing, communicating, and contributing to enterprise architecture efforts, engineering trade-off analysis and feasibility studies, proof-of-concept prototypes to explore technical implementation potions and issues, engineering reviews, technical design and implementation bringing commercial best practices to bear. * Demonstrate a high level of proficiency as a Program/Project Manager (P/PM) with Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC)-P/PM and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
