The Material Handler Lead will oversee and guide a unified team to achieve collective goals. The primary responsibilities include fostering teamwork, addressing and solving challenges collaboratively, and supporting team members in reaching objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership: Cultivate a collaborative environment where team members work together effectively, share knowledge, and support one another to achieve shared goals.
- Best Practices Implementation: Identify and establish best practices for materials team. Implement these practices to enhance efficiency, minimize setup times, and mitigate safety risks.
- Material Team Oversight: Take responsibility for the overall performance and of the materials flow, ensuring that all processes are optimized and aligned with operational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities Safety- Ensure that all team members adhere to established safety practices and procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment. Quality- Consistently meet or exceed customer expectations for products and services by implementing and following procedures that achieve all quality goals. High Involvement- Demonstrate ownership in Rope Assembly activities by setting clear expectations, managing resources and providing coaching. Foster teamwork and high performance without removing team members' responsibilities. Open Communication- Create an environment where all relevant information is transparently shared to facilitate effective business operations. Specific Task Items Training and Coordination:
- Ensure team members are adequately trained.
- Coordinate with the Materials Lead on adjacent shifts.
- Receive and distribute Work Orders from the Supervisor and set daily priorities.
Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance of your assigned area by business KPIs, including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and housekeeping/5S.
- Track and monitor KPI progress using the provided tools and targets.
KPI Ownership:
- Take responsibility for the Tier 1 boards in your Area.
- Actively participate in and lead Tier 2 meetings.
Communication and Scheduling:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the team and the Supervisor.
- Review and recommend scheduling adjustments.
- Perform periodic quality checks as needed.
- Assign tasks based on production needs.
- Ensure machine coverage during breaks and manage break schedules for team members.
Supervisory Responsibility - None. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12-hour shifts.
- Must be able to push/pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 40-100+ degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must have the ability to develop and lead a team as described in the listed responsibilities.
- Must possess math skills, mechanical aptitude, and have the ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure, and basic hand tools.
- Previous manufacturing experience that includes the use of measuring devices and the use of basic math and mechanical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Materials and Equipment Directly Used
- Strand and Wire of various diameters and lengths, on reels or in coils, empty or unassembled reels, paper lagging strips, tags, seizing wire, blocking, and thimbles.
- Rewinding machines, stanchions, shafts, collars, bushings, measuring devices, fork trucks, banding equipment, welders, and various hand tools.
