Job Description

The Quality Process Technician will be a part of the Manufacturing Process and Quality team, who support the production and testing team in ensuring that in-process material and finished product leaving the WireCo plant meets or exceeds internal and external quality standards.

The Candidate will ensure that key direction and decisions are rooted in our most basic operational demand, thatData is the Source of Truth. The candidate will promote the WireCo Business System throughout the Sedalia manufacturing facility, and support Engineering, Quality, and Compliance tasks associated with reaching our 5-Year Strategic Growth Plan.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain compliance ofthe Quality Management Systemwhich operates underISO 9001andAPI Q1
    1. Run the Businessby continuously monitoring product quality and ensuring root cause corrective measures adequately address deficiencies within the production and quality systems
    2. Improve the Businessby ensuring new products and processes are deployed successfully, identify key technological improvements to improve first pass yield while reducing downtime, and accelerate process refinements that result in improved product performance in the field
  • Regularly work with Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Corporate Engineering, Procurement, and other functional groups to address risks and opportunities for the WireCo Business
  • Drive the use ofWireCo's OpEx Pillarsto document Problem Solving and measure the effectiveness of solutions

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicatewith all levels of management and between departments to obtain scope of work for projects
  • Workwith Quality Management to obtain labor and raw material savings justifications for projects.
  • Generate specifications for any contact tooling needed for projects.
  • Assist Operations, Engineering and Maintenance personnel in solving problems with production
  • Standardize tooling and work to reduce setup times
  • Develop and write internal specifications, work instructions, supplier part specifications, and internal test methods
  • Will be trained as an internal auditor and perform quality audits
  • Use Data to drive decisions and project pathways
  • DevelopTraining Documents on Processes created
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or five years of equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Safety Focused Actionsat all times in the workplace
  • Superior computer skills, with the ability to easily navigate MS Office Suite, with particular focus on PowerPoint, Excel, and data analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with employees ranging from the production floor to executive management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and react to changing and heightened priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Additional Information

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Combination office/production floor environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time
  • Pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used

  • Strand and Wire rope of various diameters and lengths, on reels or in coils, empty or unassembled reels, paper lagging strips, tags, seizing wire, blocking, thimbles.
  • Rewinding machines, stanchions, shafts, collars, bushings, rope cutters, measuring devise, fork trucks, banding equipment, welders, various hand tools.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
