Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join the Fund Accounting team within our Funds and Operations Group. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of fund accounting, custody, portfolio yield, and NAV policy for all PIMCO-sponsored public mutual funds. The role requires extensive coordination with product business owners globally and across all organizational levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, evidenced by a proven track record of meeting deadlines and effectively coordinating across multiple functional areas.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own and oversee all third-party custodian relationships through regular communication, on-site due diligence, strategic relationship meetings, and structured scorecard evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of daily NAV, ledger, and sub-ledger accounting data from third-party custodians.
  • Confirm completion of oversight tasks related to digital reconciliation, performance monitoring, anomaly detection, and complex asset tracking, ensuring models operate at the highest level.
  • Identify, communicate, and monitor all NAV and accounting policies.
  • Lead non-conformance efforts to remediate errors and drive continuous improvements.
  • Support change management and fund event activities, including fund launches, liquidations, and restructures.
  • Coordinate projects related to technology, process improvement, and new business integration.
  • Prepare and review board materials related to third-party custodian performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of fund accounting experience with strong expertise in NAV creation, security valuation, P&L review, cash reconciliation, and transaction processing.
  • Experience analyzing and providing commentary on fund performance, distribution yield, and SEC yield.
  • Expert knowledge of fixed income assets, bond amortization methodologies, and derivatives, including TRS, IRS, CDS, options, and futures.
  • Exposure to a broad range of fund products, including 40 Act, ETF, Closed-End, Interval, UCITS, Master/Feeder structures, and currency-hedged share classes.
  • Prior experience working in an outsourced model with oversight of vendor relationships.
  • Risk- and controls-minded with a strong focus on process and documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and data management skills (Excel, macro writing, database queries, etc.).
  • Ability to influence senior leadership across a highly matrixed organization by effectively communicating complex ideas, building consensus, and driving strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 137,500.00 - $ 195,000.00
