OverviewThe Business Development team at Microsoft is responsible for accelerating the company's growth through the identification and execution of inorganic growth strategies including complex strategic partners, investments, and acquisitions. In the role of Business Development Manager, you will work closely with both external partners and internal teams - including Microsoft AI, Search, and stakeholders across the wider organization. You will identify new and emerging business opportunities and develop content partnership strategies in areas such as Sports, Entertainment, Education and Politics. This position presents a significant opportunity to shape Microsoft's content ecosystem within a rapidly changing AI environment, while enhancing your negotiation and deal-making abilities through direct management of high-impact strategic partnerships. ResponsibilitiesPartnership Strategy & ExecutionSupport formulation of partner strategy and works with the research team to provide insights into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioningManage a pipeline of strategic opportunities, influencing prioritization and resource allocationContribute to building compelling business cases and go-to-market strategies with cross-functional teamsPartner EngagementBuild and sustain trusted relationships with external partners and internal stakeholdersServe as a connector across product, marketing, engineering, and BD teams to ensure aligned executionArticulate the Microsoft Copilot & search value proposition in ways that resonate with partner business models and prioritiesDeal Management & GovernanceOwn partnership deals from ideation through approval and execution, including negotiating terms, diligence, and integration planningDevelop workback schedules and governance plans to ensure post-deal success and value realizationMonitor business performance, KPIs, and recommend refinements to maximize impactOther Embody our culture and values Skills & AttributesStrategic thinking with an execution disciplineComfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-paced environmentsEffective communicator and relationship builder across diverse stakeholder setsAnalytical and data-informed decision-making |
