Job Summary The Nursing Consultant serves as a coordinator and resource for nurse leaders in the area of health care operations. The role will improve patient care value through improved quality and reduced expenses. All market applicable acute and ambulatory care delivery locations of Monument Health are included in the scope of this role.

- Workforce management. Facilitates the most efficient and effective use of Monument Health's nursing workforce. Implements methods to monitor nursing productivity. Creates standardized staffing, scheduling, and related workforce policies.
- Financial stewardship. Supports nurse leaders with the annual budget process. Provides data analysis and consultation regarding workforce budget. Conducts variance monitoring and works through nurse leaders to develop and execute action plans. Creates operational dashboards. Monitor and report Monument Health's nursing operations performance against regional and national benchmarks.
- Facilitates the standardization of workforce management strategies, policies, procedures, and practices. Leads efforts to increase standardization across the system to improve value.
- Project Management. Effectively manages projects that increase value and reduce costs.
- Process Improvement. Partners with nurse leaders to create innovative approaches to care delivery. Identifies strengths and gaps to support the redesign and/or improvement of health care processes.
- Develops operational policies and procedures to support best practice and standardization of nursing operations across Monument Health.
- Partners with the Quality and Risk department to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation policies, procedures, and standards. Takes an active role in the development of action plans and reports.
- Emergency preparedness. Serves as a clinical resource in the emergency preparedness of Monument Health. Ensures effective emergency policies, procedures, and processes for the division of nursing. Participates and may lead disaster drills.
- Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with caregivers, peers, leaders, other disciplines/ancillary services, physicians, vendors, and community members.

Additional Requirements Required: Experience - 5+ years of Leadership Experience Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing, and Masters degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration Certification - Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Job Category Nursing
