The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements production plans to ensure timely product delivery and minimize downtime. The engineer analyzes manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities, implements TPM/Continuous Improvement and Lean principles to enhance efficiency, and utilizes SAP for production planning and inventory management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations are also key responsibilities.Reports to Plant Superintendent or Production Manager and works closely Operations, Production, Logistics, and Lab/Quality Assurance As Manufacturing Engineer you are responsible for:
- Manufacturing Planning and Control
- Develop and implement production plans to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans with Production Manager as needed to meet demand and minimize downtime.
- Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with vendors for best pricing and quality of production supplies.
- Identify obsolete components and identify replacements and alternatives.
- Co-Site champion for production system employee training, system utilization, trend analysis, and work center efficiency/optimization reviews.
- Process Optimization
- Analyze manufacturing and integration processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Reinforce TPM/Continuous Improvement methodology and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify root causes of production bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and production variability.
- SAP Management
- Utilize SAP for production planning, inventory management, cost analysis, and process monitoring.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of production-related information in SAP (backflushes and confirmations).
- Generate and analyze reports from SAP to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Co-champion the site integration SAP version updates.
Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with the Lab Manager and Quality Manager to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering and operations to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Provide technical support and training to operations staff on SAP usage and manufacturing processes.
- Support mechanical design with the engineering group.
- Collaborate with Corporate Engineering Team on CAPEX projects and multi-site system integrations.

- Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing team.
- Co-champion all safety program activities including incident investigations, root cause analysis, safety committee leadership, and CAPEX integrations/installations
Qualifications
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from 4-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
- Proven experience as a Production Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP (production module) is required.
- Knowledge of TPM/Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent math skills, as well as oral, written, reading and reading comprehension skillsin order to write reports,business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency on Microsoft Suite (MS Office), AutoCAD, SAP and Prism
