Position Title: Service Technician

Reporting to: Service Foreman + BranchManager

Department: Service

JOB SUMMARY

The Service Technician reports to the Service Foreman or Manager and is responsible for the In-Shop floor technical assistance for mechanics and repairs and service/maintenance as directed by the Service Foreman/Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Clock on to work orders





  • Repair various components of on-highway vehicles and off-highway machines





  • Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.





  • Troubleshoot and Diagnose





  • Inspect, operate and test completed products to verify functionality, machine capabilities and conformance to customer specifications.





  • Perform repairs as directed by the Service Foreman/Manager.





  • Complete all time cards or timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs.





  • Complete all paperwork necessary to perform repairs as directed.





  • Notify Service Foremen/Manager upon completion of repairs.





  • Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS




  • High school diploma or equivalent required





  • Completion of technical school program in Automotive/Diesel technology preferred





  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred





  • Strong working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions



  • Experience with generators preferred





  • Excellent diagnostic skills





  • Good written and verbal communication skills





  • Ability to consistently repair components and equipment within dealer, manufacturer and flat-rate time standards





  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in shop environment




WORK CONDITIONS

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
