Business Development Analyst

Position Summary:

The Business Development Analyst position offers a promising candidate the opportunity to help grow LCE's customer profile with Federal Government clients. These clients include the US Department of Defense, US Department of Homeland Security, and other customers in the Federal space. This entry-level role will be largely remote, but we are looking for a candidate local to the Charleston, SC area (where our corporate headquarters is located). Some limited travel may be required.

The Business Development Analyst will report directly to the VP of Business Development and will work closely with the Business Development team to develop their professional skills and business development expertise. Openness to training and coaching is a key attribute for this candidate. The Business Development Analyst will conduct market research, identify and track opportunities, engage with industry partners, and develop written and visual content for proposals and marketing materials. This high-impact role will interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The right candidate will be an organized self-starter who is not afraid to learn new technologies, communicate with colleagues at all levels, and adapt to change.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in opportunity identification and tracking using tools such as CRM, GovWin, and SAM.gov
  • Conduct and document market research the competitive landscape, market trends, and evolving procurement regulations and best practices
  • Develop written and visual materials that support Client activities (e.g., capability briefs, capability matrices, presentations, marketing materials, graphics, SOPs).


  • Attend industry days and meetings, capturing key insights and actions with precision and clarity
  • Support proposal activities including writing, editing, graphics, and creating templates
  • Support conference planning activities including schedules, booth materials, and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Assist in training others on the use of LCE's internal Client tools and processes
  • Expand your network and personal brand to establish relationships with industry partners and Government stakeholders



Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Technical Writing, English, or relevant field is preferred
  • Strong research skills: ability to find, assess, and compile relevant information from a range of sources
  • Strong note-taking skills: ability to clearly organize and summarize information gleaned from presentations, meetings, and research
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to present complex value propositions to a range of stakeholders including senior executives
  • Aptitude for learning and effectively applying business development systems and tools such as Microsoft CRM, GovWin, and SAM.gov
  • Ability to problem solve multiple complex situations and effectively engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and adapt to them
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficiency in creating graphics using tools like InDesign or Illustrator preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a virtual, professional environment



Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • Travel up to 2-3 times per year as needed
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems
