Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician with strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, particularly Daikin equipment and Carrier rooftop units. The Senior Technician will lead troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance across multiple building systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.


Essential Duties

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems, with a strong focus on Daikin equipment and Carrier rooftop units (RTUs).

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on older rooftop units (10-15 years old) to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating major HVAC repairs, retrofits, and upgrades.

  • Support general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and building systems as needed.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment logs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building codes.

  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or upgrades.


Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance with a strong emphasis on HVAC systems.

  • Proven expertise working with Daikin HVAC equipment and Carrier rooftop units (preferably 10-15 years old).

  • Solid knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical, and refrigeration systems, preferred.

  • Universal EPA 608 Certification required; additional HVAC certifications a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for mentoring junior staff.

  • Experience with energy management systems (EMS/BAS).

  • Familiarity with older equipment maintenance strategies.
