This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are seeking dynamic Manufacturing Engineers to join our Operations team at Blue Origin. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure stringent quality control throughout production, and optimize supply chain logistics across advanced lunar and spacecraft hardware domains. The ideal candidate is results-driven, skilled in resource management, and committed to high-quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including engineering, quality, supply chain, and production-to streamline processes, reduce costs, and accelerate build timelines. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing techniques, ensuring Blue Origin's continued innovation and excellence in aerospace engineering.

This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams, shifts, and locations. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified.

Position Specific Details:

  • Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm)

  • Location: Space Coast, FL

  • Relocation: Available

  • Potential travel: Up to 10% for training and related activities (where applicable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the industrialization of new flight and payload hardware (solar arrays, avionics, structures, mechanisms, integration & test, GSE, and more).

  • Drive application and optimization of DFM, DFA, DFT across product lifecycle.

  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing and assembly processes.

  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to integrate products and accelerate build.

  • Develop and maintain clear manufacturing documentation (work instructions, inspection plans, process flows, tooling).

  • Evaluate/implement new manufacturing tech: composites, advanced machining, additive, metrology, materials, automation, etc.

  • Lead, support, and document root cause investigations and drive corrective action.

  • Ensure strict compliance to standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, NASA, UL, AWS, etc.).

  • Own or support process FMEAs, risk assessments, equipment validation, and product qualification.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction; advocate for Lean/DFx principles.

  • Mentor, coach, and support the technical development of engineers and technicians.

  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering in program, customer, supplier, and cross-functional reviews.

Team Focus & Domain Specialties:

Blue Origin's integrated manufacturing teams enable the development, production, and lunar deployment of groundbreaking aerospace hardware. You will work within one or morecore specialty domains:

  • Thermal & Fluid Systems| Lunar/spacecraft radiators, heat exchangers, active/passive thermal hardware. Cryogenic and fluid/propulsion systems, oxygen handling. Pressure vessel and tank integration, qualification, and test.

  • Structures & Integration | Complex aerospace structures, assemblies, pressure vessels, and large-scale mechanisms. Launch vehicle GSE, tooling, and multi-axis/mechanized fabrication. Structural analysis (FEA), design, fabrication, qualification, and NDT.

  • Tooling & Ground Support Equipment | Design, build, test, and commissioning of flight tooling, automated assembly tooling, mechanical fixtures, lifting rigs. PLC/motion control systems for mechanized/robotic tooling. Fabrication, maintenance, and integration for flight and ground support systems.

  • Solar Arrays & Avionics | Space-rated solar arrays: cell processing, wing/panel build, stringing, NASA standards. Avionics/harnesses, ESD/bonding, cleanroom practices, advanced test/metrology. Special electronic equipment development and integration.

  • Assembly, Integration & Test | Complete vehicle/subsystem assembly & build flow sequencing. System-level integration and test: tubing, harnesses, tanks, structures, propulsion, avionics. Ground and flight hardware integration, qualification, and certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline

  • Relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience: (0-3 years Level I Engineer, 3+ years Level II Engineer, 5+years Level III Engineer, 8+ years Level IV Engineer)

  • Demonstrated experience creating clear, accurate manufacturing documentation (work instructions, BOM, flow diagrams)

  • Ability to work required shift and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Multiple Levels Covered):

  • Master's/Advanced degree in relevant engineering field

  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, PMP, or equivalent certification

  • Thermal/Fluid Systems:Hardware/system-level ownership, experience with spacecraft thermal control, pressure vessel qualification; application of NASA, ASME, AWS, UL, and similar codes.

  • Structures & GSE:Experience designing, building, and qualifying complex aerospace structures, pressure vessels, GSE/tooling (flight or ground support equipment), multi-axis mechanical systems, PLC/motion control.

  • Solar Arrays/Avionics:Experience building/testing solar arrays, harnesses, panel/wings; proficiency with NASA-STD-8739.*, ESD cleanroom practices, electronics systems, advanced test methods; familiarity with safety-critical hardware.

  • Assembly, Integration & Test:Complex vehicle integration, subsystem troubleshooting, NPI, production transition, qualification, and certification.

  • Proficiency in one or more: NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, Windchill, PLM/MRP/BOM management

  • Experience with advanced metrology (CMM, laser scanning), manufacturing automation, digital work instructions

  • Experience with analytical evaluation (DFM, DFA, FEA, tolerance/FMEA, NDT [visual, dye pen, ultrasound, X-ray, CT, EC, XRF])

  • Direct project ownership, technical leadership, and mentorship of engineering/operations teams

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in new product development, design-to-production transition, or DFx advocacy

  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to represent manufacturing engineering expertise in cross-site teams, customer/supplier interfaces, and technical reviews

  • A record of mission assurance, world-class quality, and continuous improvement
