Job Summary

The Pellet Mill Lubrication Technician is responsible for maintaining optimal performance and reliability of all mechanical equipment within the pellet mill by managing a proactive lubrication program. This includes conducting oil analysis, ensuring proper storage and handling of lubricants, managing inventory, and supporting the maintenance team with inspections and minor repairs. This role plays a critical part in the facility's preventive maintenance strategy to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain ISO cleanliness codes for lubricants by conducting oil sampling and analysis

    Ensure zero-contamination storage and dispensing procedures for all lubricants
  • Manage inventory of filters and lubricants; reorder supplies as needed
  • Assist maintenance personnel with minor repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting
  • Utilize CMMS (e.g., Limble) to track work orders, lubrication tasks, and preventive maintenance
  • Inspect and service lubrication systems including grease fittings, reservoirs, and automated oilers
  • Document all lubrication activities accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow all safety protocols when handling oils, greases, and mechanical equipment
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying lubrication process enhancements
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year industrial or mechanical maintenance experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with oil sampling, contamination control, and lubrication best practices
  • Ability to work in dusty, high-temperature environments and around heavy machinery
  • Competency using maintenance software and record-keeping tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and lubricants
  • May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and entering confined spaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per job hazard analysis
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
