Reporting directly to the department Director and/or designee, employees at this level assist in the administration and coordination of workforce optimization activities, which may include monitoring and/or administering specific, moderately complex hospital activities. This position is responsible for management of house wide staffing operations. Responsible for managing the day-to-day department operations to maintain customer satisfaction and support across the organization. This position collaborates with leaders, direct care employees and various multidisciplinary teams regarding department staffing resource needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in making recommendations during budget planning.
  • Assembles data and prepares a variety of administrative reports.
  • Supervises clerical and/or technical employees, either directly or through appropriate supervisors.
  • Serves as a resource and consults with departments across the organization on processes, and policies related to department operations.
  • Provides organizational wide education on resource utilization processes and expectations.
  • Develops education/informational materials, policies, and procedure documents related to department operations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications Required:

    1. Any one or any combination, that equals 3 years (36 months) of the following types of preparation--

    A. college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study
    • Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 1 year (12 months)
    • 90-semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
    • Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals 3 years (36 months)

    OR

    B. progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience

    2. One year (12 months) of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience

    OR

    College course work leading to a Master's Degree in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar area of study
