$32.60 - $40.02 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus $1.00 / hr shift premium for 2nd shift hours

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a skilled Electronic Maintenance Technician to join our Plant Engineering team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical production equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The technician will also support preventive maintenance efforts, maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Perform preventive and general maintenance in assigned areas.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation related to work performed.
  • Work across various areas of the facility as needed to support operations.
  • Consistently use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate effectively with associates, departments, and management to support production needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Carry and maintain necessary tools for job duties.
  • Ensure all work sites are safe, clean, and properly maintained during and after tasks.
  • Report any product contamination or sanitation concerns immediately to management.
  • Communicate effectively regarding downtime, potential delays, or equipment-related issues.
  • Uphold company policies and values through consistent workplace behavior.
  • Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Practice good personal hygiene and demonstrate a strong commitment to product and workplace safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with computers, including:
    • CMMS systems (e.g., MAXIMO)
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Maintenance-specific applications (e.g., iWork, work instructions)
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to teamwork.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain certification for powered industrial equipment.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and proactive in supporting team success.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and ability to interpret schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical prints.
  • Above-average mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude.
  • Ability to work flexible, extended, or unscheduled shifts as required.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attendance, safety, and compliance record (including company vehicle operation requirements).
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development through training, courses, or seminars (travel may be required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • At least 1 year of industrial electrical/electronics experience.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and its applications.
  • Ability to install conduit and determine proper circuit protection.
  • Working knowledge of PLC technologies and basic networking principles.
  • Experience with I/O server protocols, industrial robotics, and servo/motion control systems.
  • Proficiency in maintenance software systems.
  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics or an equivalent qualification, such as:
    • Vocational/technical certification
    • Completion of the McKee Foods Electronics Training Program
    • Approved apprenticeship program
    • Engineering/technical degree from an accredited college
  • Understanding of HMI/Wonderware software development.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot control systems and equipment.
