*Description*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Data Center Technician to support and maintain data center infrastructure. This role involves physical hardware handling, cable management, and adherence to established procedures under the guidance of Datacenter Technician Leads. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer hardware and cabling, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and asset management. *Key Responsibilities* * Cable Management & Decommissioning * Remove network cables as part of data center decommissioning efforts. * Run, label, and stage power and networking cables. * Perform DBD (Decommissioned By Design) removal tasks (no scanning required). * Hardware Handling & Setup * Prepare, stage, and set up hardware for installation or removal. * Execute basic startup and shutdown procedures following written instructions and checklists. * Assist in diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning of equipment under supervision. * Asset Management * Conduct physical audits of data center assets to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance. * System Monitoring & Support * Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance errors. * Respond to error messages and assist in resolving issues or terminating faulty programs. * Support programmers and analysts in testing and debugging new software. * Operate spreadsheet and reporting tools to manipulate data and generate reports. *Required Qualifications* * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. * Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). * Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively with team leads. *Preferred Qualifications* * Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * 2 - 5 years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure support. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Proven problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation. * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. *Technical Skills* * Data center operations and deployment * Fiber optic and copper cabling (Cat5, Cat6) * Rack and stack procedures * Troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
