Exercise Planner

Key Role:

Utilize the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) to develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of plans and procedures for clients, creating rich content using expertise, technology, and proven methodologies to develop realistic training exercises. Design, execute, and deliver planning and analytic tasks associated with exercises or simulations. Identify and shape objectives, develop exercise constructs, author scenarios, facilitate participant discussions, and author after action reports and briefings. Apply expertise with warfighting functions, COA analysis, strategy development, and organizational processes and procedures to design exercises that enable participants to test assumptions in a minimal-risk environment. Evaluate the effectiveness of specific exercise events and assess the organizations readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working with DoD components and agencies, including the operational variables such as political, military, economic, social, information, infrastructure, physical environment, and time (PMESII-PT), and establishing a framework to build a dynamic and realistic operational environment
  • 5+ years of experience supporting exercise planning at a Brigade level staff, Combatant Command, or Joint Command
  • Experience in training or military exercises such as CPX, MRX, and warfighter exercises
  • Knowledge of the Intelligence Community's missions, functions, and interrelationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with peers and senior leadership
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working on command level exercises, using the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Training Tool (JTT), and Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS)
  • Experience as an Army collective training instructor, evaluator, observer, controller, scripter, or role player
  • Experience developing and implementing long, mid, and short-range planning, mission analysis, and execution of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP)
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
