Medical Director (MD/DO)- Med Hospitalist - Loudoun Hospital

Inova Health System
parental leave, paid time off
United States, Virginia, Leesburg
Sep 08, 2025

Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) is a nationally recognized, advanced community hospital. Inova hospitals are unified operationally and strategically by Service Lines, including a Medicine Service Line (MSL). Functioning within the MSL and based at ILH, the ILH Hospitalist Group (the "Group") is comprised of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with diverse practice experiences who provide care to patients under the medicine service. The Group is led by the Medical Director and works as a team to provide high quality care to ILH patients through implementation of Inova's mission, vision and values.

Central to the Medical Director position is the ability to manage comprehensively the administrative structure and operating needs of the Group while creating a "team" environment and unifying that team towards fulfillment of the Group's own mission and vision, and towards implementation of ILH and MSL initiatives. As part of this the Medical Director naturally serves as the primary Group representative and liaison for other departments and leadership across ILH and the MSL, and acts as a Project Manager, helping develop, guide and track outcomes for Group projects and ensuring appropriate resource allocation for the same. Implicit in this responsibility is the need to balance and integrate the interests and priorities of the Group with those of ILH and MSL. Accordingly, the Medical Director must have exceptional organizational skills and embody professionalism in communication through demonstration of mutual respect, objectivity, patience, and integrity.

Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.
