Additional Locations Job Description Summary Job Description The Director, Global EHS will lead the organization's worldwide Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) strategy, partnering with the Leadership Team to drive compliance, safety, and sustainability across all functions. This role manages a team of EHS Site Leads and Business Partners, oversees the EHS Management Information System and auditing programs, and ensures continuous improvement of EHS processes. The Director will also support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, aligning them with company objectives and industry best practices.
Lead EHS for Quality and Operations partnering to align strategies with business priorities. Manage and develop EHS Business Partners and Site EHS personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and business needs. Support ESG initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and applicable local or global requirements. Oversee the creation, implementation, and enforcement of EHS policies, standards, and safe work procedures across global operations. Drive a culture of safety and accountability, promoting employee engagement to eliminate accidents and injuries. Manage global EHS compliance programs, including audits, digital platforms, performance reporting, and third-party vendor oversight. Provide technical expertise to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop and oversee global EHS training programs to maintain compliance and build organizational capability. Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement of EHS systems and performance. Review new processes, equipment, and construction projects for EHS impacts, collaborating with teams to address risks.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in EHS, Environmental Sciences or related scientific discipline preferred 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, ideally in manufacturing or facilities management. Passionate EHS professional who can drive conversations with senior leadership. Deep knowledge of EHS regulations with strong understanding of international safety and health. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex operations and projects, and drive organizational change. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen skills with the ability to anticipate regulatory and business challenges. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership. Skilled in technical writing, negotiation, conflict resolution, and training. Proficient with standard software applications (Windows, MS Office, etc.).
Organizational Relationship/Scope:
Reports to VP Internal Operations Works with minimal direct supervision at all times based upon the incumbent's experience, judgment and understanding of regulatory requirements, management systems and site objectives. Most decisions are jointly made by collaboration with assigned site management teams (e.g. Real Estate & Facilities, RSC, etc.) Financial responsibilities include managing assigned operating budgets and collaboration with assigned Location/Organization leader budget/spend approvals.
Travel of 20-30% (US/ international) is expected for this position. Majority of work will be in company location and remote home office. Occasional work in laboratory, and manufacturing operations environments.
Pay Transparency: The expected base pay range for this position is $150k - $180k. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable program. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion.
