WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS Waukesha County is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing & Communications Specialist* to join our Parks and Land Use Department. As a key team member, you will be instrumental in shaping the department's public image through engaging multimedia content, innovative marketing strategies, and impactful communications. * Marketing & Communications Specialist within the Public Communications classification. Key Responsibilities: Creative Development:
- Design graphic artwork for print and online media.
- Develop promotional materials for events to drive revenue and engage volunteers and sponsors.
Strategic Planning:
- Assist in planning and executing special events to promote departmental programs.
- Compile and analyze social advertising data, providing insights for strategic recommendations.
Media & Public Relations:
- Manage news releases with departmental experts.
- Act as the department's digital and social media expert, enhancing sponsorship, brand messaging, and public communication.
- Handle inquiries from the public and coordinate cross-departmental information initiatives.
Content Management:
- Generate, edit, publish, and schedule content that expands brand reach.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, and content management systems.
- Strong knowledge of marketing research, analytics, and social media best practices.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups.
- Ability to develop and execute marketing programs that enhance visibility and engagement.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements 1. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field. OR 2. Graduation from a recognized technical school with an associate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field, plus two (2) years of professional work experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field.
