A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

An Information Technology Manager's day is a multifaceted blend of technical oversight and strategic leadership. It often begins with a review of system performance and a team huddle to provide guidance on support tickets, ensuring consistent and timely resolutions. A significant portion of the day is dedicated to maintaining system security, which includes conducting evaluations and acting as an incident manager during major events. The role also involves hands-on technical work like planning and deploying new technologies, overseeing upgrades, and implementing long-term solutions to recurring problems. The manager works closely with other departments to ensure technology aligns with business goals, and they regularly present capacity planning and strategic initiatives to senior leadership. Ultimately, they are the cornerstone of the company's technology infrastructure, ensuring all systems are secure, reliable, and continuously evolving.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER



  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience and training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to occasionally travel overnight


  • MCSE certification preferred, but not required



WORK SCHEDULE

This corporate training position works a full-time schedule with occasional travel to our regional offices.
