Role and Responsibilities:



  • As a Staff System Engineer, you will lead the strategic design, implementation, and management of the organization's systems and cloud infrastructure
  • Serve as a cloud strategy and architecture lead, supporting modernized cloud-native environments across AWS, Azure and GCP
  • This senior leadership role involves architecting scalable, secure, and highly available environments that align with business objectives
  • Work with stakeholders and end users to develop requirements for system modernization efforts and manage programs through the requirements validation, solution development, and delivery phase
  • You will mentor senior engineers, oversee complex projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the organization's operational efficiency and effectiveness in technology
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues in environments
  • Monitor system performance, analyze metrics, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and efficiency
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues in environments
  • Support the application of security best practices, including patch management, user permissions, and system hardening
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Position Requirements:



  • Possess strong client-facing and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • 10+ years advanced experience implementing cloud IaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 5+ years advanced networking experience
  • Expert Level Experience working with Okta or similar Idp technologies
  • High Level Experience with Intune or other MDM device management technologies
  • Experience with Atlassian products a plus
  • Proven experience in diagnosing, isolating/resolving complex issues, recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Proven ability to lead multi-function projects and provide executive updates
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail


Educational & Professional Credentials



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience (cloud, server, network, virtualization architecture and support)
  • Professional certifications such as AWS, MCSE, GCP


Travel & Office Location



  • Approximately 10% out-of-town travel to regional offices and/or data centers
  • Staff System Engineers work remotely or their regional office when not traveling
