Helper Fitter ( Night Shift) (R/O)

Job Title:Helper Fitter

Location:Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview:A Fitter Helper 1st Class provides hands-on assistance to his/her assigned fitter. Such assistance includes any and all duties required by his/her fitter, including but not limited to, tacking and grinding, procurement of tools and supplies, and positioning components to be welded.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lifts, moves, holds, or clamps work pieces to fabrication table, onto jigs, or into position as directed.

* Prepares surfaces to be welded, by removing slag, rust, mill scale or other contaminants.

* Tacks structural components in place as directed.

* Connects hoses and welding leads prior to commencement of welding.

* Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces.

* Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5'.

* Must be able to wear/work a respirator when applicable.

Qualifications:

* One (1) year of marine or six (6) months of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

* Must be familiar with welding processes, tools, etc.

* Possesses tacking and grinding ability.

* Certification with stick, short arc, heli arc or flux core may be required.

* Capable of lifting and positioning items to be welded.

* Able to work at heights or in confined spaces.

* Can operate machinery and equipment, such as an overhead crane and forklift.
