The Duke Master of Engineering Management (MEM) Program is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Admissions Reader to join our admissions team. In this seasonal role, you'll play a vital part in shaping the future of our program by helping evaluate and select outstanding candidates for both our Campus and Online Master's degree tracks.

You'll work closely with the MEM Administrative Manager and participate in the admissions committee, reviewing applications, attending committee meetings, and occasionally interviewing candidates. This is a flexible, remote position running from December through May, with an average of 10 hours per week and up to 40 hours during peak periods. If you're passionate about higher education and enjoy analytical work, this is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a world-class program.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable working online and using software tools.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior experience in admissions or related industry.
  • Familiarity with Slate or similar admissions management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.



Other Requirements:



  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University Policy.
  • This is a remote eligible position (exempt only) and must reside in a Duke University-approved state.

  • Evaluate prospective student applications using established standards.
  • Submit assessments for review by the Admissions Committee.
  • Participate in committee meetings to provide feedback and discuss decisions.
  • Conduct interviews with applicants as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements for future admissions cycles.
  • Support other admissions-related tasks as assigned.
