Location: Amarillo Regional Specialty ClinicDepartment: Amarillo ClinicShift: First Shift (United States of America)Standard Weekly Hours: 30Summary: Cook Children's Medical Center and Health Care System, located in Ft. Worth, TX, seeks a board certified/board eligible child neurologist to join our pediatric neurology clinic in Amarillo, Texas. Cook Children's is committed to securing a child neurologist whose professional, social, and economic interests would lend themselves to a long-term, cultural fit within the institution, the medical staff, and the community. This physician will be responsible for outpatient neurology care at the Amarillo location and other regional locations as needed. This physician will also provide inpatient consultations at two local hospitals providing pediatric care.Subspecialty clinics for epilepsy and movement disorders are provided monthly by staff from the main campus with telemedicine consultations available for subspecialty care as required. Call responsibilities will be shared by Cook Children's physicians serving West Texas. Interested candidates will have faculty appointment and teaching opportunities with Texas Tech providing instruction for medical students and neurology residents. Amarillo is the largest city in the Texas Panhandle with a population of over a quarter-million people. Situated along the famed Route 66, Amarillo is a city where you can visit Cadillac Ranch, hike Palo Duro State Park (the second largest canyon system in the US after the Grand Canyon), and enjoy a 72 oz steak for free at The Big Tex Steakhouse (provided you can finish it in the time allowed).
