Housing Locator - Community-Based Role

Are you someone who loves being out in the community, building connections, and making a real difference in people's lives? Join our team as a Housing Locator, where you'll help individuals find safe, stable housing-and support them in staying housed.

What You'll Do:

As a Housing Locator, you'll be on the front lines helping adults who've experienced long-term homelessness and are living with mental illness or substance use challenges. You'll work closely with landlords to:

  • Build and maintain strong housing partnerships
  • Educate and support landlords
  • Help resolve issues between tenants and landlords
  • Ensure clients are housed in safe, appropriate environments
  • Receive training to become a certified housing inspector

This is a community-based role, which means you'll spend time out in the field, visiting homes, supporting clients directly, and traveling to meet with landlords (mileage is reimbursed). We provide PPE to ensure your safety during visits.

You'll be part of a supportive team using the Housing First approach-putting housing stability first while providing wraparound care to help clients thrive.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Outgoing and comfortable working out in the community
  • A natural relationship-builder and communicator
  • Compassionate and understands trauma and mental health
  • Energized by helping others find long-term stability

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (in social work, public planning, business, urban planning, or similar) plus 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge: Familiar with community resources, government programs, and support systems
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with a professional presence
  • Understanding: Background in mental health or human services is a plus
  • Driving: Must meet driving requirements if the role involves transportation
