Position summary:

Develops and implements strategies that achieve growth objectives. Responsible for proactive lead generation, customer recruitment, and sales activities. Facilitates and leads the evaluation of opportunities outside of downstream distribution activities. Supports the identification and development of energy solutions that meet the unique and evolving needs of our customers.

Pay Range: $94,800 - $156,250 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Essential Functions:
* Attract new business into BHE service territory by developing comprehensive economic development proposals for prospective businesses
* Drive new margin and operating income growth by proactively identifying and securing new customer opportunities.
* Drives growth by evaluating market trends and identifying opportunities to expand into new customer segments, markets, or solution offerings.
* Leverage industry research and consumer insights to lead the development of innovative regulated and non-regulated services and programs.
* Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key economic development organizations at the regional and state levels to support business growth initiatives.
* Support the structuring and negotiation of complex deals with new customers. Collaborate with strategic account managers to ensure a seamless transition to ongoing account management services.
* Oversee the proposal response process, including managing RFI and/or RFP requirements and coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders.
* Utilize advanced problem-solving techniques to develop creative strategies for business growth within the energy industry. Provide leadership in project management and support integration efforts to ensure the successful implementation of new services.
* Provides project management leadership and supports integration activities.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Partner with strategic account managers on new energy solution offerings, customer retention, and expansion opportunities to maximize growth and earnings potential.
* Partner with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement growth plans.
* Participates in marketing activities to promote service offerings.

What Is Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, marketing, communications, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of project management, business development, utility operations, sales, engineering, finance or deal execution/integration experience.
* Experience and proven abilities in economic development and requirements for project advancement.
* Proven project development ability and motivation to drive results through measurable results. Proven success in project management and execution.
* Experience with negotiation and the ability to mitigate risk related to business development agreements.
* Strong CRM system fluency to track leads, opportunities, and account information.
* Ability to quickly analyze issues, prepare comprehensive analysis and recommend solutions and alternatives for identifying/solving specific issues.
* Ability to highlight opportunities and provide clear communication to a broad audience that will assist in driving change.
* Strong business acumen and ability to analyze data to address customer situations.
* Ability to think and act commercially by constantly evaluating current market, customer and industry dynamics to originate new growth opportunities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team building, and employee development skills.
* Ability to indirectly influence to keep projects moving in a timely and efficient manner.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
