The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a cloud architect, you know how to take advantage of cloud capabilities. On our team of experienced professionals, you'll use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to support your clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions.

You'll closely collaborate with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in AWS to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solution components. You'll have the chance to work within a DevOps framework to create and manage container apps and use products like Kubernetes to further the mission. With access to our internal AWS environment, you'll have the space and time to explore different ways of solving our clients' problems, and you'll partner with stakeholders and your team to deliver the right technical solutions. Whether modernizing legacy computing platforms and applications or creating new ones from scratch, you'll have the latest tech and brightest teammates at your fingertips. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud environments

  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control such as GitLab, and DevOps practices

  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services, including S3, EC2, ELB, IAM, least privilege users, roles, and policies

  • 5+ years of experience patching, configuring, deploying, and connecting COTS and custom in-house software applications to address

  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile Scrum environments

  • Experience with managing container orchestration tool clusters

  • Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation, or IAC tools

  • IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI)

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience implementing the AWS Well-Architected framework

  • Experience implementing cross-domain and hybrid cloud environments

  • Experience with software development and hardening best practices

  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks, such as NIST, CCSP, DoDAF, or UAF

  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, Kubernetes Administrator, or Certified Terraform Associate Certification

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

Vetting:

Applicants selected must possess an active IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI) and meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client; IRS MBI is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
