This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

This role will be accountable for all Engines Business Unit data analytics, planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as being a business partner to our senior leadership. Our team is seeking a proactive individual with excellent reporting and analytics acumen, knowledge of operational KPIs/metrics, and keen attention to detail that can thrive and support our mission in a fast-paced environment.This role will report into the Blue Engines Director of FP&A and will drive critical initiatives to improve the quality, accuracy and timeliness of insights provided to leadership.

  • Business Reporting: This person will own all financial and operational executive reporting for the business unit (e.g. Tableau, Executive Reporting Package, KPIs)
  • Data Reporting & Process Automation: Design and maintain reporting ecosystems and internal processes to meet dynamic business needs (e.g., Databricks, SQL)
  • Analytics & Data Modeling: Build advanced financial and operational data models, craft intuitive visuals, and provide high-quality analyses to support leadership decision-making
  • Key Performance Indicators: Develop, analyze, and interpret leading and lagging indicators; identify variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Risk & Performance Management: Assess business unit and program performance, manage risks, and develop mitigation plans while projecting future business impacts
  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership, translating data into actionable insights to drive operational and financial success

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of financial and/or business intelligence and analytics
  • Advanced SQL querying and data mining skills (Databricks)
  • Advanced data visualization expertise (Tableau)
  • Professional experience developing Business KPIs and performance metrics
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (Microsoft Office Suite - e.g., Excel)
  • Experience spearheading automation of data pipelines and reporting tools, while optimizing workflow solutions and query taxation
  • Keen attention to detail and an ability to drive complex initiatives to closure

Desired:

  • Experience with enterprise planning/finance and ERP systems (e.g., OneStream, Microsoft D365)
  • Experience with Python for analytics and automation; familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (concepts applied to forecasting and anomaly detection)
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Experience in helping business managers meet financial targets and deliver results
  • Experience working with key stakeholders in gathering requirements and developing sound solutions for the greater organization

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $117,498.00-$164,497.20

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
