Job Description

Position Summary:

Produce quality ceramic cores using Injection Machines. Prepare dies, obtain materials and inject part according to procedure.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow written procedures to manufacture quality ceramic cores operating Injection Machines.
  • Produce quantities within set standards of each part number, identify core defects and maintain accurate records (routers, CQCS, etc)
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Monitor material levels and replace as needed
  • Must assist Engineers, Quality and Manufacturing as needed.
  • Must follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Maintain department standards for housekeeping/6S
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be self-directed to accomplish goals with minimal supervision

Experience & Education

  • Basic math skills required.
  • Operators need to be able to comprehend and read procedures.
  • Mold or plastic injection experience preferred.

Ceramic Core Injection Operator - Level 1

Level one ceramic core injection operators perform injections tasks to produce simple ceramic cores for casting operations. They work under supervision in the operation of related equipment such as injection presses, verifying press parameters, maintain hopper levels, apply mold release, and perform visual inspection tasks. They may also be expected to place rods in dies as required. YOE 0-1

Ceramic Core Injection Operator - Level 2

Level two ceramic core injection operators perform more advanced injections tasks to produce ceramic cores for casting operations. They work under minimal supervision in the operation of related equipment performing intermediate and complex mold cleaning and prep and parameter adjustments as needed. They will also perform basic slurry/catalyst measurements and mixes where applicable, intermediate visual inspection as well as perform injections of intermediate complexity adhering to procedures and specifications. YOE 1-3

Ceramic Core Injection Operator - Level 3

Level three ceramic core injection operators perform advanced injections tasks to produce ceramic cores for casting operations. They work without supervision in the operation of related equipment performing more complex tasks such as first part runs and process development. They will also respond to issues and demonstrate more advanced trouble shooting and visual inspection skills. They will communicate interdepartmentally to solve problems. Also able to train others at all levels. YOE 5+
