Survey Technician

We are currently searching for an experienced Survey Technician to support our West Gulf region located in Starkville, MS.

What you'll be doing:

• Reports to the Crew Chief
• Responsible for assisting with field surveying activities, including maintenance of survey equipment
• Conducts land surveys
• Measures field locations of objects, dimensions and boundaries of land areas, position of points, lines and grades
• Operate conventional and electronic field surveying equipment
• Establish angle and distances for mapping, construction, stake out, and the establishment of control

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of surveying experience is preferred, but not required
• Safety oriented
• Must be able to pass a motor vehicle record check and a pre employment drug test
• Some overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions
• Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads
• Basic computer literacy and math skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Team player
• Attendance, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
