Ready to make an impact in a supportive and team environment? The Mover position supports the Student Union by handling event setup and breakdown, opening and closing duties, and general building operations. Responsibilities include moving and arranging furniture, equipment, and catering stations, as well as maintaining cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Assists with building opening/closing, moving setup equipment, setup and breakdown of event spaces, building operations support, before, during, and after conferences and events at the Student Unions.
- Assists with pre-event logistics planning, venue preparation, decor and set-up, arrangements for catering, technology, equipment, moving and shipping services.
- Assisting with assembly and disassembly of catering stations and/or equipment. Assisting with special setup requests or unique event requirements.
- Oversees logistics related to events tear down, including clean up, return of equipment and technology, final documentation, billing, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Operations office and storage areas.
- Inspect equipment and supplies for damage or issues prior to and after events.
- Keeps inventory of supplies and reporting shortages or damages.
- Sets up and removes seating, tables, and other associated equipment for events.
- Cleans meeting rooms and surrounding areas.
- Moves, furniture, appliances, and equipment.
- Moves computers and electronic equipment.
- Movies items such as refrigerators, ovens or large serving tables.
- Moves art objects and displays.
- Greets guests, speakers and sponsors, and provides assistance as necessary.
- Communicating effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of proper techniques for safe lifting, carrying, and moving materials to prevent injury and ensure workplace safety.
- Skill in time management, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain physically active and on one's feet for extended periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and work effectively under supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move/transport up to 50lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications |
- 3 years event logistics and setup experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report |
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
