Overview:

TheCADEngineer will work under the Engineering Department to review, support, train and approve Engineering Design Change Packages which contain design drawings, layouts, Bill of Materials, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and models of purchase parts in SolidWorks to Veeco comprehensive standards. Additional duties include maintaining complex layouts, reviewing and maintaining templates, creating check lists andcoordinatingdistribution of ECMs to other documentation drafters in the group.

Responsibilities:



  • Create drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks with input from Development Engineering
  • Reviewing design drawings from Development Engineering to verify the drawing meets required industry standards.
  • Checking and correcting drawings errors which are flagged in SolidWorks and PDM applications
  • Collaborating with engineers, ensuring designs meet standards, managing design files and assisting with prototypes
  • Reviewing assembly BOMs and verifying all the necessary details have been included to ensure parts can be fabricated without issue.
  • Checking 3D models have been created correctly and coordinating with mechanical engineers as needed
  • Supporting Business system PDM issues and working with administration personnel to make corrections and determine work arounds.
  • Maintaining system level models and schematics
  • Checking where used parts in the Bill of Materials
  • Reviewing ECMs and checking for obsolescence



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum of 5 years experience in design OR minimum of 15+ years in design drafting.
  • Must be proficient in SolidWorks (minimum 5 years) for modeling and creating detail and assembly drawings.
  • Must be proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Must be able to manage files in PDM to industry standards.
  • Must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly with team members and suppliers to quickly resolve issues.
  • Must have experience working in concurrent engineeringenvironment with PDM systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite Products (examples: Excel, Visio, Access, Word)



Preferred:



  • Experience with ECTR and SAP is preferred.
  • Experience with Capital semiconductor equipment and laser or optical systems is a plus.


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $108,583 - $137,538.15, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
