Responsibilities

General Function:

Responsible for the processing of legal documents including child support, tax levies, interrogatories, date of death requests, etc.

  • Process legal documents including but not limited to; child support, interrogatories, and levies.
  • Assist with the processing of requests from attorneys on deceased customers.
  • Provide assistance with bulk legal research.
  • Place holds on customer accounts in accordance with legal regulations.
  • Process release of funds to the appropriate entities.
  • Maintain a shared log of all items processed.
  • Assist other members of the department and legal unit as needed to ensure timely processing of legal documents received.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Deposit Operations Department, this position is also responsible for assisting wherever necessary to help the Deposit Operations Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; enrolled in a Legal Studies Program.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Skills:

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills required. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be able to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions with accuracy. Attention to detail is essential, along with strong organizational ability and proficiency in data entry skills.

Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in a Legal Studies program.

Other Job Information

Hours: 15 to 20 Hours/Week (Flexible scheduling to accommodate students academic commitments)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
