General Communications Clerk - Temporary Assignment Job ID JR102018 Date posted 09/15/2025 Organizational Overview The Guest Services Division offers a range of services designed to support and enhance the groundbreaking scientific research conducted at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Position Description The Guest Services Division seeks a Temporary General Communication Clerk to join their team. Under general supervision, performs semi-routine communications service and mail duties requiring the use of several procedures and making decisions requiring some judgment, including processing, picking up and delivering incoming, outgoing and intra-Laboratory mail. Some familiarizations with cryptographic and radioteletype equipment and procedures is required, as well as routine operation of the teletype, addressograph and other office machines. Incidental typing, maintenance of office records and files, processing of mail and other office functions are required. The hours of operation/shift for this position are M-F 8am-4:30pm. This position reports to Mailroom Supervisor. Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
