Identifies, analyzes and develops solutions to improve team related issues. Coordinate complex financial workup for consultations, ancillary and other related services per clinical scheduling protocols Oversees the preregistration process to completion which will include insurance verification, referral/authorization, precertification (when applicable), financial work-up, financial collection, informing patient of all financial liabilities and inputting documentation into appropriate computer systems for inpatient and outpatient services. Serves as a resource for patients and physicians to contact regarding financial inquiries within JHMI. Serves as patient advocate to ensure patients have access to the appropriate clinical services. Provide patients with educational material and physician information. Also provide directions to other affiliates and clinical locations when necessary. May be asked to perform scheduling functions when required. . Maintains financial records according to departmental protocol. Education: A.A. degree required (or 3 - 4 years equivalent work related experience may be substituted); B.A. degree preferred. Work Experience: Three (3) years related medical office, hospital, medical call center or similar customer service environment. Extensive medical insurance processing; medical billing experience preferred. ***Authorization to Work in the United States:Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position.
