Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, with ability to obtain a CADC certification, to work as a member of an integrated behavioral health team providing treatment for adults with co-occurring substance abuse disorders and mental illness. Duties will include conducting annual assessments, diagnosing, individual service planning, direct treatment, case management, accurate documentation and records maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Saturdays may be included in the work schedule. This position provides a great opportunity for professional development and advancement in clinical skills.

The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working in a behavioral or mental health environment.
    • Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
  • Must have a current CADC certificate, or the ability to obtain one within one year of starting.

Preference will be given to those applicants with training and experience in evidence-based practices, and experience providing intensive mental health and addictions services in a community-based setting. Experience working with co-occurring disorders is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate must have an NPI number or the ability to obtain one upon employment. Will be subject to successful completion of a background check.

Do you have experience in Evidence-Based Practices, substance abuse treatment, criminality, and trauma-informed care and a working knowledge of community behavioral health?

Are you able to:

  • Engage with, and understand the behavior of, people under stress.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with clients, their families, physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, public and private administrators, Certified Recovery Mentors, and the community in general.
  • Interpret community mental health and chemical dependence services.
  • Prepare concise, complete clinical documentation, and other data recording.
