Certified Hand Therapist

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a fulltime Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our dynamic outpatient therapy team.

What You'll Do:

As a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), you will evaluate, assess, treat, and provide rehabilitative interventions to individuals with hand and upper extremity conditions or injuries. You will assess patients' hand and upper extremity conditions, including range of motion, strength, sensation, and functional abilities. Based on the evaluation, you will develop individualized treatment plans to address patients' specific needs and goals which may involve therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, splinting, and other interventions. You will provide hands-on therapy to improve patients' hand and upper extremity function, reduce pain, and promote healing utilizing various modalities, such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. You may also be required to design and fabricate custom splints and orthotics to support and protect injured hands and upper extremities while educating patients on proper use and care of these devices as well as self-care techniques, home exercises, and strategies to prevent further injury. You may also provide guidance on adaptive equipment and assistive devices. As a CHT, you will collaborate and work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.

What's Available:

• Fulltime, 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

• 8 to 10-hour day shifts, Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays

• Starting salary of $83,865 and up, commensurate with your years of experience

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy

• Board certification for Occupational or Physical Therapy

• State of Wisconsin Occupational or Physical Therapist license

• Certification through Hand Therapy Certification Commission

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

• A minimum of 3-years' experience in direct treatment of upper limb
