Responsibilities

This program will offer you real-world experience in an Information Security environment. Your team assignment may provide you with the chance to collaborate on diverse offensive and defensive security technologies, utilizing coding to enhance security infrastructure, automate existing processes, and devise creative solutions that elevate our overall security posture. You will have the opportunity to influence change and help us deliver on our mission to protect State Farm and its policyholders. As a Cybersecurity Intern at State Farm, you will:

  • Collaborate on products that support diverse user communities
  • Develop and enhance coding solutions-including low-code and no-code platforms
  • Work across multiple product suites to strengthen cybersecurity measures
  • Improve communication and teamwork within cross-functional teams
  • Build valuable skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment


Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing Cybersecurity, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/IT, or related fields
  • Preferred GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Active involvement in cybersecurity clubs, organizations, or relevant projects
  • A proactive mindset with the drive to lead and positively influence change
  • Strong problem-solving curiosity
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • A positive "can-do" attitude and a love for learning (and having fun!)
  • Basic understanding of risk and compliance principles
  • Foundational coding skills in one or more programming languages

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java and/or Python
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Interest or experience in AI, automation, and machine learning is a plus

Internship Program Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time college student enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate program during the internship
  • At least one semester of college remaining after Summer 2026
  • Ability to work on-site at one of our hub locations (Bloomington, IL or Richardson, TX) or within 180 miles of the assigned hub for the duration of the internship
  • Commitment to full participation throughout the internship period with minimal schedule disruptions
  • Strong desire to join State Farm post-graduation

What You Can Expect:

  • Summer Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Onboarding (Bloomington, IL): May 31, 2026 - June 4, 2026
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
    • Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
  • Pay: $28.00/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend (minus applicable taxes)!
  • Work Arrangement:
    • HYBRID: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
    • Hub Location(s): Bloomington, IL; Richardson, TX
