Copper River Technologiesis seeking an CAD Project Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary Architectural Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) team in support of a federal facilities program. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing design projects, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and delivering high-quality CAD and architectural outputs that support real property management, space planning, and facility modernization efforts. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact with government stakeholders, ensuring that all deliverables meet technical requirements, contractual obligations, and schedule milestones.

Responsibilities(include but are not limited to):



  • Program & Project Management

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Architectural Design and CAD support team for assigned federal projects.
    • Develop, manage, and track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables in compliance with contract requirements.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with federal Contracting Officer Representatives (COR), program managers, and other stakeholders.
    • Prepare and present project status reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to leadership and government representatives.


  • Team Leadership & Oversight

    • Supervise architectural design and CAD specialists, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
    • Assign work, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
    • Coordinate workloads, priorities, and resources to optimize team efficiency and productivity.


  • Technical & Quality Control

    • Ensure architectural designs and CAD drawings comply with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), and other applicable federal and agency-specific standards.
    • Implement and enforce quality control/quality assurance (QC/QA) processes for all design deliverables.
    • Manage CAD standards, file naming conventions, and Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) protocols for drawing storage and retrieval.
    • Review and approve design documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
    • Provide surge support of design drawings when deadlines and workload balance is required.


  • Stakeholder & Contract Management

    • Collaborate with engineers, facility managers, and construction teams to ensure design solutions are practical, compliant, and cost-effective.
    • Coordinate with security, IT, and records management teams to ensure compliance with federal data handling and cybersecurity requirements.
    • Support contract compliance, invoicing, and performance reporting in alignment with federal acquisition regulations.




Requirements:



  • Clearance

    • Secret




  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, or related physical or geospatial science such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Cartography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Urban Studies/ Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Geography, or Construction related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience providing and managing CAD support


  • Skills/Experience:


    • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing and managing CAD support, at least 3 years managing architectural and CAD design teams in the federal sector.
    • Experience working on federal facilities projects, preferably within the Department of Defense (DoD) or other large federal agencies
    • Strong understanding of federal design standards including UFC, UFGS, and agency-specific CAD standards.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and other relevant design software
    • Demonstrated experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
    • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integration into CAD workflows.
    • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to foster a collaborative environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with technical teams and government stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, federally regulated environment.
