An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer local to the Aires Pittsburgh, PA (Robinson Township) office.
This exciting opportunity is in a high growth environment where you will utilize your experience to lead the testing of software applications to business and technical requirements. This includes the creation of test cases, test execution, back-end data validations, defect reporting and bug fix verification.
Position Responsibilities:
- Understand business objectives and translate them into comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Define test objectives, scope, and key deliverables in alignment with sprint cycles and release timelines.
- Plans, writes, and executes test cases and identifies, logs, and re-creates defects.
- Performs test to meet all functional and non-functional requirements and ability to execute automated test suites on software applications.
- Identify test scenarios that can be automated by the test automation team.
- Ensures completion of functional testing, Negative testing, Integration testing, Regression testing, security testing, and performance/load testing as required.
- Collaborates with the agile team (development, PO, Scrum Master) to isolate, reproduce, record and report issues.
- Work closely with backend developers, architects, and product managers to understand API design and specs
- Understanding of HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH) and status codes
- Understanding of API request/response structure, headers, query/path params, and bodies
- Understanding of Authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, Basic Auth)
- Communicates test progress, test results, and other relevant information.
- Verifies production deployments of software updates and troubleshoots production issues.
- Supports user acceptance testing and triages the bugs found.
- Maintains and updates regression test suites.
- Performs peer reviews of test scripts.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in application testing.
- 2+ years of experience in API testing using tools like Postman
- Experience with Test Case Management and Bug Management systems (Jira preferred)
- Experience with SQL
- Must have experience in different basic types of testing (black box, functional, regression, sanity, compatibility, integration, stress, load)
- Additionally, experience with the following is preferred: load testing, security testing, web-services testing, mobile testing, API testing.
- A "test to break" attitude and ability to test with an end-user point of view.
- Ability to communicate and report software defects accurately with attention to details.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex system logic.
- Open to learning new skills (applying test scenario): AI/ML and AWS coming shortly
