A Brief Overview: The Clinical Research Associate (CRA) will work independently to assist with project planning, communication with external and internal collaborators, and financial tracking. The CRA will be involved in consenting of patients to research studies, IRB processing of study documents, and compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional research regulations. The CRA maintains a collaborative relationship with Principal Investigators and inter-departmental staff. Duties typically performed include coordination with study investigators to plan and implement new research projects, assistance with design of data collection and tracking forms, coordination and liaison with other research locations, ensuring quality data collection, production of reports for tracking purposes. This position will involve subject recruitment, data collection, and the performance of other research-related duties as assigned. The CRA may also perform literature reviews and assist with manuscript writing.
What you will do:
- Reviews protocol and other materials (Investigator brochure and consent)
- Reviews subject eligibility requirements to determine if subjects would be available in the practice
- Assesses the ability to meet study timelines in light of other site commitments
- Assesses the resources necessary to do the study (people, physical space, equipment, etc.)
- Assesses the financial feasibility of performing the study
- Contacts and screens potential subjects
- Performs correct eligibility review and randomization of subjects.
- Schedules subject and sponsor visits
- Prepares for each subject visit, ensures all study procedures are completed
- Assists the PI with study subject visits
- Monitor accounts required for proper patient/study charges
- Trains the people involved in the study
- Sets up and organizes study files
- Creates or reviews study specific source documents
- Ensures all necessary data are gathered and recorded, reviews case report forms for completeness, correctness
- Identifies study tasks and timelines, monitors progress on project deliverables, executes the completion of study deliverables and supports research team in completing deliverables
- Makes corrections to case report forms, resolves data queries
- Demonstrates ability to correctly describe designated research protocols.
- Practices as part of research team, supports other research and clinical staff.
- Demonstrates ability to assist with the implementation of protocols, data submittal, patient calendar and coordination of patient care to include specimen collections.
- Ensures communication is maintained with subject throughout designated studies. Collaborates with interdepartmental staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the protocol treatment. Monitors and reports toxicity and adverse events.
- Ensures adherence to good clinical practice and Endeavor Health institutional guidelines.
- Review and prepare protocol regulatory file and subject charts for audit review.
- Demonstrates ability to correctly:
- Manage study payments to subjects
- complete study closeout activities
- facilitates storage and retention of study documents as indicated by the contract
- reorder study supplies
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required
- Certification: CCRP/ACRP?SRA/NUCRA (or similar certification) required
- Experience: At least three to five years of experience in coordinating clinical trials (experience with neurology/neurosciences clinical trials highly preferred)
