Premier, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist in Charlotte, NC.

Duties:

Algorithm Development and Implementation:

* Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data;

* Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and highly dimensional datasets;

* Work with developers and product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features, and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.

Data Strategy and Design:

* Participate in data exploration and conceptual design for strategic initiatives;

* Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product I improvement;

* Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.

Requirements Analysis:

* Analyze business requirements, procedures, and problems, to design and develop solutions for production;

* Develop features and stories based on requirements to feed product backlogs.

Knowledge Sharing:

* Provide data science practice advice, demonstrations and presentations to colleagues, clients, and management. Conduct research, as needed;

* Provide mentoring and training.

Data Operations:

* Develop project estimates and work plans;

* Identifying, developing, reviewing, and evolving best practices, standards, operating procedures, and processes;

* Participating in the review of team member deliverables.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, computer science or a related field plus 2 years of experience in related occupations. Requires 2 years of experience in the following: (1) Developing software in an agile environment; (2) Python scientific and data libraries such as Pandas and Jupyter; (3) Applying machine learning and data mining to real-world applications and products; (4) Designing, building, and deploying AI systems at scale; (5) Deep neural network-based computer vision and NLP algorithms; (6) Defining requirements and leading projects in distributed teams and successful track record of delivering production-grade software; (7) Manipulating and analyzing large-scale datasets and experience with workflow tools such as Airflow and AWS cloud services. Telecommuting is permitted.
