Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Coordinator Research Admin in the Behavioral Sciences
Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The primary purpose of the Coordinator Research Admin, under the direction of Principal Investigator, is to assist with managing and continuing to develop the Cancer Survivorship and Outcomes Center (
CSOC) and Faculty Mentorship Program, along with research projects in the Principal Investigator's lab, which includes development of training and mentoring programs for faculty and conducting highly specialized research including creating surveys for research and mentorship purposes and cleaning, preparing, and analyzing data for the
CSOC, mentorship program, and research studies for meetings, formal presentations, manuscripts, and grant submissions.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Assists with the development and design of programs to support the goals of the Cancer survivorship and Outcomes Center and Faculty Mentorship Program along with research projects in the Principal Investigator's lab.
- Assists with the development and maintaining of mentorship programs that facilitate orientation and training of new/current faculty.
- Manages the quality control of electronic and hard copy databases of all research projects.
- Organizes and gathers materials for meetings or presentations, when required, related to mentorship, survivorship, or research initiatives and/or data and outcomes.
- Participates in all aspects of research and ensures compliance with study protocols or procedures. Monitors progress of projects. Reports to Supervisor on project progress, problems, and the need for adjustments.
- Recruits, screens, consents, and enrolls participants for studies per project timelines. Ensures participant completion of study activities per protocol. Maintains study recruitment, accrual, and participation documents.
- Responsible for the creation of surveys using survey software programs as directed. Builds and troubleshoots survey flow and corrects any issues prior to release and launch. Conducts focus groups, interviews, usability testing sessions, and administers surveys per study protocol.
- Uses and maintains confidential databases for data entry of all mentorship and research project information. Prepares and analyzes data for use in presentations, manuscripts, and grant submissions with limited supervision. Responsible for database design, maintenance, cleaning and analysis. Prepares reports containing findings, analysis, conclusion and recommendations (i.e., grants, narratives, position papers, mentorship, survivorship initiatives, etc.), as requested.
- Assists with progress reports, administrative, regulatory, and accrual/progress updates for all projects.
- Prepares materials for IRB submissions and renewals. Creates initial submissions and conducts continuing reviews as required.
- Conducts targeted literature searches and web searches. As directed, provides support in the preparation of presentations and other materials, creating de novo as appropriate. Assists in the preparation of publishable manuscripts and grants (i.e. maintains Endnote library, uploads manuscript drafts and revisions into submission portal).
- Trains and oversees trainees as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, sociology, public health, or a related field, plus three (3) years of progressively more responsible research or program development/project management/administrative experience required.
- Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Behavioral health, public health or similar research experience preferred.
- Experience in an academic research institution that conducts Clinical Research Trials preferred.
- Experience working with database preparation and analyses and familiarity with SPSS software preferred.
