Your responsibilities
Job Summary The CloudOps Engineer is responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing, and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions that deliver applications to Thyssenkrupp Materials Services North America. This includes collaborating with vendors and partners to stay informed about upcoming changes, ensuring alignment of AVD technologies with the organization's target architecture strategy and technology roadmap, and developing plans for adoption and implementation.

The primary objectives are to deliver agile and secure virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) services on the Azure cloud platform, ensure high service availability, provide expert technical guidance, continuously enhance automation to maintain high quality, meet financial targets, and achieve exceptional customer satisfaction. Key Accountabilities

  • Technical ownership of our Azure Virtual Desktop platform
  • Participates as an infrastructure engineering representative on project teams for the design, development, implementation and/or integration of desktop virtualization environments
  • Participates in technical communities as a Subject Matter Expert in preparing training, technical sessions, and any other events to develop technical knowledge in our team members
  • Analyzes system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions for Azure AVD based production configuration
  • Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within tk security standards
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the virtualization environment
  • Supports security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management
  • Accountable for creating, cataloging, and maintaining technical and usage documentation of the Azure AVD
  • Collaboration with customers and the product development teams
  • Continually learn new technologies and develop deep expertise then sharing that knowledge with the team
  • Driving ownership and accountability for platform improvements (automations, cost-optimization, self-service enablement, health reporting, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: *

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable technical expertise with Cloud VDI operation managing Azure Virtual Desktop that utilize FSlogix profiles
  • 5+ years' experience in Windows/System administration, Azure Cloud Services, Remote Desktop Services, Windows Virtual Desktop (or other VDI technologies), Active Directory, Azure ARM.
  • Experience using Microsoft Intune
  • Proficiency with managing user identities
  • Experience with VDI printing solutions
  • Familiarity with implementing and managing networking and storage for AVD
  • Experience creating, managing, and optimizing AVD host pools
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 products (Office365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Capability to troubleshooting complex cloud issues
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using git-based source control management platforms (GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience coding with scripting languages
  • Familiar with common programming languages, database technologies and IDEs
  • Azure certification: MS Azure Administrator Associate or Expert ,MS Azure Solutions Architect
  • AWS certification: AWS Associate or Professional or AWS DevOps Engineer
