Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Charity Program Manager to lead and grow our philanthropic and STEM-focused initiatives, including support for Arizona robotics programs (FIRST and VEX). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit program management, fundraising, event coordination, budget oversight, and donor relations, with a strong commitment to social impact and community development. Job Description: Program Management Oversee and expand charitable programs, including STEM initiatives such as FIRST and VEX Robotics in Arizona. Act as Regional Director for FIRST in Arizona and Event Partner for VEX/REC Foundation. Co-chair the Arizona Volunteer Planning Committee for the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Coordinate two regional FIRST competitions, managing logistics for 40-60 teams and 100+ volunteers over multi-day events. Build and maintain infrastructure of sponsors, high school robotics teams, mentors, and volunteers to support program growth. Support coordination of VEX competitions at Microchip's facility and represent Microchip at the VEX World Championship. Grant Management Manage AZFirst Rookie grants and scholarship programs, including recruitment, reporting, and fulfillment of grant requirements. Seek out and manage grant opportunities for STEM funding, including grant writing, financial reporting, and principal investigator responsibilities. Donor Recruitment & Engagement, Budget Management Design and implement donor acquisition and retention strategies for both general philanthropy and STEM initiatives. Cultivate relationships with individual, corporate, and community donors, including school districts, universities, and local government contacts. Monitor expenditures, track assets (~$500k for AZFirst), and ensure financial sustainability and transparency. Program Development & Impact Reporting Collaborate with internal teams (i.e. HR, Academic Engagement) to align charitable and STEM initiatives with organizational goals. Represent Microchip on advisory boards for East Valley STEM Association, and AZFirst. Evaluate program impact, prepare reports for sponsors and stakeholders, and interact with external evaluators to generate valuable program results. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers involved in charity and robotics operations. Foster a culture of accountability, compassion, innovation, and inclusion. Contract & Event Management Negotiate contracts for events and services. Plan and execute large-scale events, ensuring successful outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction. Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit or charity program management, with at least 3 years in corporate social responsibility or STEM-related initiatives. Strong background in budget management and fiduciary responsibility for nonprofit assets. Demonstrated success in donor recruitment, fundraising, and retention. Experience planning and negotiating contracts for events. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Previous experience working with school districts, universities, and local government contacts. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with FIRST or VEX competitions in a mentoring or leadership role preferred.
