The Opportunity

We're looking for a Technical Manager - Renewables to join our dynamic Renewables Civil team and shape the next generation of renewable energy projects. What You'll Do

Interact closely with other corporate business units such as sales, marketing, account management and project management. The Technical Manager is a self-starting technical leader with expertise in leadership, communication, resource management and engagement, business acumen, industry framework, and consulting engineering.

Management Responsibilities - 50%



  • Maintain and grow positive team culture.
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership and technical services oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
  • Creates and manages team budget for financial responsibility. Includes but is not limited to revenue, profitability, and indirect expenses (training costs, reward and recognition costs, team event costs, etc).
  • Coaches, trains, and develops engineering technical staff for growth and development opportunities. Responsible for regular 1:1 meetings, career development discussions, succession planning, quarterly reviews, individual promotions, team retention, and yearly team engagement survey results.
  • Actively manages team resource planning along with cross team and cross office resourcing collaboration, individual performance reviews, individual annual merit and bonus decisions, training and professional development for team members.
  • Support the role of hiring manager as well as company-wide hiring for successful growth which includes; regular evaluation of candidate resumes, technical phone screens, collaboration with HR partners, and regular in person interviews and debrief assessments.


Project Execution Responsibilities - 40%



  • Lead engineering activities across the full project lifecycle-from proposals through design and construction readiness-for renewable energy projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with project management to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions.
  • Oversee adherence to company standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements across all engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure project budgets, schedules, and scopes are maintained, including development and management of change orders.
  • Review and approve technical documents, maintaining responsible charge and enforcing high standards of quality and design excellence.
  • Deliver client value through thoughtful, cost-effective engineering solutions that align with project goals and long-term performance.


Business Development Responsibilities - 10%



  • Participates and partners with members of the Sales team and engineers throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with Proposal Development Team and Project Management group.
  • Maintains and builds positive client relationships.
  • Participates with cross functional team on strategic initiatives for the company and/or department.


What We Expect from You





    • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
    • Civil Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years of civil and/or structural engineering design experience, with 5+ years in the renewable energy market is required, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role preferred.
    • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary renewable energy projects from initial design stages through final design, ensuring alignment with client requirements, internal design standards, and industry best practices.
    • Drive strategic project delivery across multiple initiatives, balancing both internal and external key stakeholder priorities, timelines, and organizational risk while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
    • Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners to support business growth and collaboration.
    • Demonstrate leadership through mentoring, planning, and business acumen, while proactively identifying opportunities and navigating challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Office, Power Point and Project) and a working knowledge of additional software such as AutoCAD is a plus.
    • A collaborative mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
    • Authorization to permanently work in the US

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $137,700 - $179,000
