Tennant Company, a technology leader in developing sustainable cleaning solutions, is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Engineering to serve as a Controls Test Engineer II. The successful candidate will participate in the evaluation and assessments of a broad range of innovative product designs, leading edge battery and charger technologies, and fully autonomous vehicles. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about product testing and reliability, enjoys working with a team of talented engineers and is eager to take on big challenges. As part of this team, you will have the ability to contribute significantly to the delivery of our award-winning products around the world!

RESPONISIBILITIES:



  • Support the development of controls Verification and Validation testing
  • Responsible for EMC/EMI/ESD testing at offsite test facilities
  • Translate Systems Requirements Specifications into detailed test plans and procedures
  • Write formal test reports
  • Function as member of project team with Test ownership
  • Work with a talented team of technicians to execute system controls test plans
  • Work cross-functionally to execute product evaluation programs
  • Maximize utilization of HALT chamber, Battery Test assets and Motor Test Stations
  • Identify, justify, and deploy new test assets to enhance Tennant's understanding of product performance


REQUIRED SKILLS:



  • Working knowledge of test equipment including Power Supplies, DMMs, and oscilloscopes
  • EMC/EMI testing and troubleshooting
  • Able understand electrical schematics
  • Creative / innovative problem solving
  • Self-starter, able to successfully manage tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • BS in Electrical from an ABET accredited four-year college or university
  • MS in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience



DESIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Troubleshoot test failures down to root cause and recommend corrective action
  • Embedded firmware and Controls System Development
  • C/C++ or similar structured programming
  • CANopen and J1939 buses and frameworks
  • Verification and Validation test methodologies
  • PLC programming (Allen Bradly and Automation Direct preferred)

POSITION TYPE:
Full Time

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $77,200 - 115,800 Annualized
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
